ABC Kids Instructor Position

Job Overview

Have experience working with children (age 4-12), and enjoy climbing? We are looking for you to join our team! As an instructor at ABC Kids Climbing you will be creating a supportive and fun environment for children to build confidence through bouldering and top roping.  

At ABC Kids Climbing you will:

  • Lead youth indoor rock climbing classes
  • Facilitate birthdays
  • Work indoor camps

Hours

Positions start as part-time; 6-16+ hours a week with opportunities to grow. 

Requirements

  • At least one year experience working in a professional environment with children age 4-12
  • Can relate to kids of all ages
  • An understanding of the fundamentals of climbing and a minimum of three years of climbing experience
  • An energetic and positive attitude
  • Strong communication and motivational skills
  • Punctuality
  • A flexible schedule
  • Classroom management skills a plus
  • CPR and First Aid certification not required but highly desirable
  • Must pass background check
  • Availability at least one weekend day

ABC Kids Guide Position

Job Overview

ABC Kids Climbing, a unique climbing facility for kids and the home of Team ABC, located in Boulder, Colorado, is seeking an experienced outdoor climbing guide who enjoys working with children. This summer join our youth-centric community of children, families, climbers, teachers, counselors, instructors, coaches, route setters, and guides.

Lead week-long full-day (6+ hour) groups of youth Summer Campers aged 7-17 years old in ABC Kids Climbing’s Summer Camp Outdoor Program. Guide Top Rope and Bouldering experiences at iconic Boulder area climbing zones including Eldorado Canyon, The Flatirons, Flagstaff Mountain, and Boulder Canyon.

Dates:

Onboard and train as early as May 19th, 2022 (date flexible between mid-May and mid-June)

Guide weekdays June 13th – July 29th, 2022

Potential to extend employment beyond July 29th, 2022 at ABC Kids Climbing

Requirements

  • AMGA or PCIA Single Pitch Instructor Certification
  • First Aid / CPR Certification – Preferred (new certs/renewals available during onboarding)
  • Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Certification – Preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proven outdoor climbing risk management and risk mitigation experience
  • Ability and strong desire to lead and mentor assistants and children in an outdoor climbing environment
  • Expertise assessing and managing bouldering and top rope sites
  • Highly motivated and physically fit
  • Proponent of youth stewardship and environmental awareness including Leave No Trace principles
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record and background check

Compensation, Benefits, Perks:

  • Commensurate with experience ranging from $140 – $175 /day
